Florida State League Playoffs
The Florida State League Playoffs start tonight with the North and South Divisions playing a best of 3 series. In the North Division it is the Brevard County Manatees and the Tampa Yankees facing off against each other. During the regular season Brevard won 10 of their 15 games against Tampa. But Tampa has been very strong the second half of the season.
The first game tonight between Tampa and Brevard is being played in Tampa with Game 2 and Game 3 (if necessary) to be played in Brevard.
In the South Division it is the Fort Myers Miracle and the Charlotte Stone Crabs facing off in their 3 game series. Fort Myers played in the finals last year against the Daytona Cubs who won the Florida State Championship in 4 games. The Charlotte Stone Crabs are in their first year in the Florida State League and have played well finishing second to Fort Myers. Because Fort Myers finished first in both halves of the season, Charlotte was awarded a playoff spot for having the next best record.
I will be heading to Brevard tomorrow for the second game of the North Division Series and I hope to have some photos up in the next few days.

Gulf Coast League Nationals
The Gulf Coast League Nationals won the GCL Championship at Space Coast Stadium on Thursday in Viera, Florida. The Gulf Coast League is a Rookie league that has teams on both the East and West Coast of Florida. The teams play a 60 game season and have a best of 3 championship series. I had the chance to shoot the GCL Nationals three times this year and had a lot of fun at the games. Here are a few photos I took this year.
