Daytona Cubs vs Lakeland Flying Tigers Aug 27th
I shot another game between the Daytona Cubs and the Lakeland Flying Tigers tonight. The 2 starting pitchers for the game were Charles Furbush for Lakeland and James Leverton for the Cubs. The game started out with the Tigers scoring 2 runs on a home run by Jeramy Laster over the left field wall in the top of the 1st. The Cubs came back in the bottom of the 1st with Brandon Guyer adding a 2 run shot. Audy Ciriaco also hit a home run in the 5th inning to bring the Tigers within 1 run. The Cubs scored 2 more runs in the 5th and one in the 6th to put the game out of reach, and went on to win the game by a finial of 8 to 5.

Nathan Samson of the Daytona Cubs
Nathan Samson of the Daytona Cubs is one of those players that you know just loves the game of baseball. He is also one of the friendliest players that I have met. He makes sure to say hello everytime I am at the ballpark, and occasionally he will ask if I got photo of a play he just made. The most recent time that he asked was when I got the photo below which I featured a few nights ago in my blog.
Nathan has spent most of this season in Daytona, but he has also spent some time at the Double A level with the Tennessee Smokies. Part of the reason for his promotion to Double A was his great plate discipline, as he has only struck out 25 times in 337 at bats as of today.

Eric Farris of the Brevard County Manatees
With the Minor League Baseball Season winding down most of my blogs will be baseball related. I want to post some photos and experiences that I have had this year shooting for Minor League Baseball, The Florida State League and the Daytona Cubs.
Living in the Daytona area the only other team that is fairly close to me is the Brevard County Manatees. I try to drive down to as many of there games as possible to cover other teams in the Florida State League. One of the players that have enjoyed watching this year is Eric Farris. Eric plays second base for the Brevard County Manatees and is one the most exciting players that I have photographed this year. He has a great attitude and it is always a treat to see him in the field. With Brevard already earning a spot in the Florida State League playoffs, I plan on covering there games so you just might see some other photos of Eric before the season is over with.

Daytona Cubs vs Brevard County Manatees Aug 20th
Here are few shots that I took tonight at the Daytona Cubs game. The shot in the middle is the kind of shot that I tend to look for when I am at the game, I like the action shots more than any other type of shot. The best part about this one was when the inning was over the Second Baseman who turned the double play comes up too me and asks did you get it. He sure did smile when I showed him the shot.

Weekend Waterfalls
A few weeks ago I went on a short trip to the mountains in Georgia with my wife and son. While I was there I was able to get a few shots of waterfalls and we also got a few short hikes in. It was a lot of fun to do something a little different and hopefully I can get back there in the winter when there is generally more water on the falls.

Daytona Cubs No Hitter
I normally do not shoot many Saturday games but on this past Saturday I had agreed to shoot a team photo for the Daytona Cubs. We had been rained out the 3 previous times we had tried to do it and we only had one other chance to get it done. It was also a double header game and it started a little earlier so I hoped to have decent light for at least the first game. It turned out to be a good thing as I was able to shoot my second no hit game of the year and oddly enough the second on with more than one pitcher. The other nice thing about it being an early start time is was able to get a few good photos of all of the Cubs pitchers that were a part of it. I put together a little collage that you can view above.

Blog Change
I have decided that I am going to shake up my Blog a little bit. Up until now my Blog has focused only on Nature and Wildlife photography, I do so much more than just those 2 things. So I have decided to cover all of my photography from this one blog and to try to keep it up much better, and yes Kolla there will be people in the photos.
